Ah, yes. Orientation.
My chance to finally become aquainted and, well, oriented to BU and the city of Boston. But what is in store? What grand adventures await my arrival?
Seems like a snazzy opportunity for a list, no?
1) Presentations and more Presentations. It seems that I shall hear from just about everyone at BU. Career Services, Student Health Services, Disability Services, Community Service, the Police Department, the libraries, dorm life, personal health (how to avoid the Freshman 15?), and the list goes on... This all obviously plays into that whole "get oriented" bit of Orientation.
2) Class registration. Finally! I've spent the last month and a half being able to use the "planning" tool on BU's StudentLink and now I finally get to see if I can actually get a seat in any of the classes I planned. This means I can also see about ordering those enormously expensive textbooks. I may even start reading! ...Well, we'll see about that much.
3) Meeting people. I'll be assigned into a group with around 20 other freshmen, giving me an opportunity to get to know these lucky people fairly well over the two days of orientation. With 20 down, that leaves just 29,980 more to meet!
And the grand part is that it all starts tomorrow. Am I psyched? Am I psyched?
I'm pretty damn psyched.
