steps toward move-in day

Shelton Hall on Bay State Road at Boston Unive...Image via Wikipedia

Boston starts to seem like a long time away. I literally jumped for joy when I recieved a flyer from Barnes & Noble at BU trying to trick me into buying my bedding from them ("Regular Sheets Won't Fit Our Beds-These Sheets are Guaranteed to Fit" <-BS! The only thing irregular about them is that they are Twin XL and I can buy those anywhere). I got just as excited when I got the letter about health insurance. But gradually these things just don't cut it. Real progress came today when I recieved (finally) my housing assignment. As it so turns out, I get a suite in Shelton Hall, a typically upperclassmen dorm. Not sure how that happened. My floor also happens to be the Writer's Floor, for students studying writing. I'm also not sure how that happened. I'm in the School of Communication, as is at least on of my suitemates. Speaking of which, it seems I have pretty exciting suitemates too. One boy from Luxembourg, one from China, and my roommate from Hong Kong. Nice. My dorm features a quiet top floor study area with great views of Boston, a dining hall, a late night cafe, and (wait for it) a haunted floor.

Pulitzer-prize winning playwrite Eugene O'Neil died in one of the suites on the 4th floor and hence the floor is haunted. Lights are dimmer and the elevator mysteriously stops here. Oh and whoop-di-do, I'm on the fourth floor. Spooky? No, convienent. The elevator gets stuck on my floor. If I was on the 5th floor, then I'd be in trouble.

So today marks the most exciting correspndance I have recieved from Boston University since I got my acceptance letter. Things are moving people. And I am psyched.
